Ribble (2011) refers to digital security as '' electronic precaution to guarantee digital safety''. It can also be easily defined as the ability to use digital information and information systems without any disruptions, interference and unauthorized access and data collection.
Online activity as everyone knows they basically refer to the things done by digital citizen ships online, and it has been noted that all these online activities come with hazards. Although the benefits that come with digital access are some great dangerious that individuals have been experiencing the most.
Hazards of online activity
The most trending online activity are social network, there are a variety of activities on these social network sites. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are some of the well known online activities that are used by a lot of people and are the most activities that usually expose people to cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is a hazard online activity that people should be aware of it.
Guidelines for online safety
- Digital citizens need to avoid providing their private/personal information to unknown web sites
- Avoid clicking on e-mails attachments from unknown senders
- Avoid surfing gambling, porn or other dicey sites
- Avoid participating in chat rooms or social networking sites
